PHOENIX — A man was arrested and charged after leaving the scene of a south Phoenix crash that killed his passenger.

Phoenix police report that on Feb. 24, 27-year-old Ryan Matthew Weber was turning left onto 7th Avenue from Southern Avenue when he allegedly failed to yield for an oncoming truck.

Police say Weber fled the area without calling for medical attention for his 30-year-old passenger, who was extricated from the car with severe brain injuries. He died later that night.

Court records show that the driver of the truck was not injured.

Police located and arrested Weber the next day.

Weber has been charged with leaving the scene of a deadly crash.
