A man charged with first-degree murder in a Glendale shooting was arrested in Texas.

Glendale police report that one person died and another person was shot in the foot after a shooting Sunday evening in Glendale.

Police said two men were found with gunshot wounds in the area of 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Both were transported to the hospital.

Martiniano Sandoval died at the hospital, police said. The other victim is recovering.

Witnesses told police that the two men were involved in an altercation with a third person, now believed to be 39-year-old Rodolfo Cardenas.

On July 10, Glendale detectives were contacted by Peoria police detectives saying the murder may be connected to a stolen vehicle report they took last week.

They say Cardenas talked to them about the burglary of his sister's home recently near 59th and Northern avenues. Cardenas got information about the vehicle involved in the theft and was searching nearby apartment complexes for the possible suspects.

He promised officers that if he found them, he would, “smoke their a**.”

A photo of Cardenas was shown to the shooting witnesses who confirmed the shooter was Cardenas.

Police located Cardenas' car at a bus stop in Casa Grande. Greyhound officials told police that Cardenas bought a ticket to San Antonio, Texas. Glendale police confirmed on Friday he was arrested.
