A man high on inhalants allegedly rammed a park ranger’s car after being awoken in a North Phoenix parks and recreation station.

Phoenix Police report that on April 11 they were called to the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Station, near 21st Avenue and Greenway Road to assist a park ranger.

The park ranger reported to police that in their parking lot they found a man, later identified as 19-year-old Jeramiah James Clendenen, passed out in his car with the engine running.

The ranger reportedly knocked on the window to wake Clendenen, who responded by putting his car in reverse and striking a metal gate.

Clendenen allegedly passed out again, and when he was awoken, he again put that car in reverse, this time slamming into the ranger's vehicle.

After being removed from the vehicle, police say Clendenen was uncooperative saying, "I was sleeping."

In his car police reportedly found "small metal cylinders of compressed gas." Police believe Clendenen was impaired by inhalants.

A record showed that Clendenen admitted that his driver's license had been suspended.

He was arrested for aggravated DUI.
