PEORIA, AZ — A man was indicted this week after being arrested in a jewelry store heist in Peoria.
Court documents state that Opunabo Giancarlo Johnbull was indicted Wednesday for the burglary of a London Gold store near 75th Avenue and Bell Road.
Peoria police responded to an alarm at that location just after midnight on November 14.
When officers got on scene, they allegedly found Johnbull just inside the broken window with about $30,000 worth of diamonds, gold jewelry, and computers.
Police said they also found a metal bar and a glass cutting tool with Johnbull.
He allegedly admitted to the theft saying, "It was easier to rob than a bank."
He has been indicted for possession of burglary tools and committing burglary.
