PHOENIX — A man was run over and killed after falling into the road from being punched.
Phoenix police report that on Monday morning Aaren Derek Shivers allegedly punched a man as he was walking down 19th Avenue near Glendale Avenue.
The victim fell into the road and was run over. The victim later died at the hospital.
Shivers ran from the area but was caught nearby by officers. Shivers allegedly told police that the victim punched him first and he just returned a punch.
However, police say surveillance video shows that Shivers was unprovoked when he punched the victim.
Shivers is being held on a $200,000 bond for second-degree murder.
The victim's identity has not been released.
