A man staying in a Mesa motel room was threatened by an intruder wielding a machete.

Mesa police report that on October 13, a man later identified as 37-year-old Anas Ali Muraweh, entered a motel room near Recker Road and Main Street.

Muraweh allegedly threatened the guest inside the room, waving the sheathed machete over his head and saying, "You [messed] with the wrong guy."

The guest ran out of the motel room and contacted the police.

Police shot Muraweh with a bean-bag round and took him into custody.

They reportedly found a syringe and metal spoon in Muraweh's possession.
