A man trying to return money he stole from a Mesa business was arrested earlier this week.

Mesa police report that on October 29, they responded to the Chevron store near Alma School and Baseline roads.

There they met the store manager who reportedly told them that 29-year-old Christopher Sean Allen had admitted to stealing over $5,800.

Allen allegedly came to the store to return some of the money.

Police say he was found with about $3,000 in his possession.

Allen allegedly told police that he had been stealing money from the Chevron over the past few months to support a drug habit.

He has been charged with theft.
