Police say a Mesa woman was run over after getting her daughter from a bar after her date.

Mesa Police report that on March 6 a woman found out that her adult daughter was going to a bar with an older family friend, 47-year-old Kevin Lee Denton.

The woman was concerned and went to the bar to get her daughter and bring her home.

Denton reportedly followed them to their home, near Crismon and Broadway roads, and started yelling at the mother.

A resident came out of the home and stood between Denton's vehicle and the mother. Denton allegedly lurched his car forward causing the man to land on the hood of the car.

The mother grabbed the car window and yelled at Denton, who allegedly backed up causing the woman to fall. He then reportedly, "looked at her while she was on the ground and pulled forward running over her leg."

Police say the woman suffered multiple fractures to her leg.

Denton then left at a high rate of speed, and was located by police on March 26 and was arrested.

He's been charged with aggravated assault.
