PEORIA, AZ — A Peoria wife reportedly told her husband, "I hope you die," after shooting him multiple times during an argument.

Peoria police say Friday night they responded to a home near 91st and Peoria avenues after a woman called saying, "I shot my husband."

The woman, 46-year-old Christine Eve Ann Deason, reportedly told police that she and her husband were separating and he came to the house to get some items.

Initially Deason told police that while they were arguing in the backyard he assaulted her. She said he then chased her into the home and threatened to kill her. She then ran upstairs and grabbed a gun.

Police say a roommate who was in the home at the time allegedly told them that the couple were indeed arguing. However, the witness said they were yelling at each other, but neither of them were running when they entered the home.

The witness then heard several gunshots. He also heard the victim allegedly ask, "Are you going to kill me?" He then reportedly heard Deason say, "I hope you die...I hope you go to hell."

Detectives reportedly found six shell casings from a .40 caliber handgun.

They say the victim was shot four times in the back, arm, and buttocks. Police say, "none of the wounds were to the front of the victim’s body." Investigators say the victim was shot from an elevated position as the victim was going down the stairs.

Deason is being held on a $1,000,000 bond for second-degree murder.
