TEMPE, AZ — Police have arrested a man for a deadly shooting that happened in Tempe Monday night, reportedly over the sale of a video game system.
Officers were called to the scene near US 60 and Mill Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday and found an adult male, Daniel Moreno, with a gunshot wound. Moreno was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.
The suspect, Gabriel Hernandez, allegedly went to the apartment looking to collect a small amount of money related to the sale of a video game system.
Police say as Hernandez approached the apartment, Moreno refused to let him inside. At that point, Hernandez allegedly pulled out a gun and began shooting.
Hernandez was arrested Tuesday at a home in Mesa. He faces charges for second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and misconduct involving weapons.
