GLENDALE, AZ — A U.S. Army deserter was found on a surveillance camera trespassing inside a Glendale home.

Glendale police report that on October 17, they received a call from the homeowner of a home being remodeled near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The victim reportedly told police that he was watching trespassers in his home on surveillance cameras.

Police reportedly found 19-year-old Francisco Alfredo Vargas in the backyard of the home and arrested him. Upon his arrest, Vargas allegedly told police that he entered the home through a back door to explore and left once he saw the camera in the home. He said he chose the house because it was for sale.

Police say Vargas has a felony arrest warrant for desertion from the United States Army.

He has been charged with criminal trespassing.
