PHOENIX — A man who committed 60 beer runs in 60 days was sentenced to over 4 years in prison.

Court records show that Fabian Olvera Martinez, 25, was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and ordered to pay $3,700 to Circle K for the thefts.

On May 30, 2019, Phoenix police captured Martinez, who was responsible for 60 beer runs over 60 days.

Court documents describe Martinez as a "prolific repeat offender."

Martinez stole Michelob, Budweiser, Bud Light, and Tecate mostly from a Circle K near 35th Avenue and Thomas Road. He usually took between 2-4 cases of beer at a time, according to court records. In total, the value of the stolen beer is said to be $3,700, police say.

Surveillance video, pictures, and store reports linked Martinez to the incidents.

Upon his arrest, Martinez told police that he sells the beer on the street to support his $200 a day fentanyl addiction.

Martinez is currently serving his sentence and is scheduled for release in January 2023.
