PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department has arrested an alleged suspect who was involved in a homicide that occurred Friday, June 7, near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road.
According to Phoenix police, officers responded to an address near the intersection around 3:15 p.m. to find a 34-year-old man, later identified as Jesus Velazquez, with gunshot injuries.
Velazquez was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say the suspect, 26-year-old Victor Garcia, was arrested Saturday morning.
Garcia was booked into jail on first-degree murder charges.
