Police arrested a man in Phoenix after he allegedly cut his roommate with a sickle.

Officers were called to a home near Indian School Road and 47th Avenue on November 5, after receiving reports of a stabbing.

According to police, 58-year-old Clifford Lee Coleman allegedly cut his roommate across his right arm with a sickle.

The victim suffered serious injuries, and police say he may lose his hand. Police report that they found a lot of blood on the patio and a tourniquet was used on the victim's arm.

Coleman reportedly told police that he was stabbed by the victim with a knife and swung the garden tool in self-defense after the victim came at him again. Police say they found a silver-colored knife on the ground, but Coleman did not appear to be injured.

Coleman has been charged with aggravated assault.
