PHOENIX — A teacher in the Roosevelt School District has been charged with assaulting a pre-teen student last year.

Last week, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office charged 37-year-old Chantelle Rose Allah with aggravated assault.

Court records show that Allah allegedly slammed the classroom door multiple times on a student in her classroom, causing bruises, last October. She reportedly admitted to investigators that she slammed the door on the student's foot because she would not move it.

Police viewed surveillance video, which showed the incident, according to court records.

Allah was placed on administrative leave by the district at the time.

She has been charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to make her first court appearance on November 25.
