A man has been arrested after allegedly molesting a family friend in Phoenix.

Court records show that a teenage boy walked six miles after being molested by a family friend who took him to a store for party supplies.

Phoenix police report that on March 11 a young teenage boy was at a birthday party at a dance hall near Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue when he and a family friend left to get dry ice.

Police say 35-year-old Adrian Barrera-Contreras was hired to be a dance instructor at the birthday party. He was asked to go to a grocery store to get some dry ice and took the boy with him.

Police say the boy became very uncomfortable in the car when Contreras started talking about homosexual activities and later molested the boy, while parked in the car at the store.

The boy ran away and walked the nearly six miles back to the dance studio. Police say he was afraid Contreras would find him, so he took a different route to get there.

When he arrived at the studio, another family friend saw that he was "visibly shaking," and asked him what had happened.

After his arrest, Contreras allegedly admitted to police that he touched the boy inappropriately, but, "he did it to get the victim to smile."

Contreras is being held on a $150,000 bond and has been charged with child molestation.
