A man used a sock to hide a phone, which he used to record girls in a restroom in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale police report that on April 11 a teenage girl found a sock containing a cell phone hidden in the bathroom of her home near 68th Street and Thomas Road. When she examined the phone, she found the camera was actively recording her.

When she investigated further, she reportedly found more videos and photos of her and her younger sister in the restroom using the toilet and shower.

Police say the victim found the phone in a sock on the ground near the sink.

The suspect, 37-year-old Eleuterio Cazarez-Cruz, demanded the phone back but the teen refused to return it, so Cruz ran away.

For the next 24 days, police attempted to locate Cruz but had no luck until Cruz called the victim’s mother wanting to see his son.

The mother set a meeting with a man, and then contacted police who were there to meet Cruz when he arrived.

He has been charged with voyeurism.
