PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is cracking down on holiday thieves by incentivizing those who can turn them in.
The department announced Wednesday that Silent Witness will extend rewards to include arrests of anyone who steals parcels that are dropped off at homes or businesses.
The often misdemeanor of thefts, often referred to as porch pirates, will now be eligible for up to $250.00 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
Phoenix police say one of the key pieces to catching the thieves is knowing who the victim is and having them make a police report so that if someone submits video or identifying information detectives can follow up and contact the victim.
