A woman, who has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a girl in her early teens, has a prior prison record for her part in a Peoria murder for hire case.
Surprise police report that 18-year-old Karen Molina-Pompa was arrested on February 28 after a family member found messages on the victim’s phone that indicated the girl, who is in her early teens, was in a sexual relationship with the suspect.
The victim reportedly identified Pompa as her ex-girlfriend and related several instances of sexual conduct.
Upon her arrest, Pompa allegedly admitted her involvement in the sexual conduct.
Court paperwork shows that Pompa was released from prison in January, 2016 after serving a yearlong sentence for her participation in a murder for hire plot in Peoria in 2013.
The paperwork outlines Pompa's involvement in the killing of Steven Gibson by his son (Steven Jr.) and Erik McBee. They were hired by the victim's wife to murder Gibson and be paid $2,000 after it was done.
Pompa assisted Gibson Jr. and McBee in moving the victim’s body out of the bedroom after he was beaten and stabbed. They were trying to put the body in his truck but were interrupted when they heard police sirens approaching. Bloody shoes belonging to Pompa were found by police in Gibson Jr's. closet.
Pompa plead guilty to amended charges of attempted first-degree murder and concealment of a dead body.
She has now been charged with multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
