An assault suspect with a knife challenged Phoenix officers with Tasers to "bring it on."
Court records show on April 11 police were called to an apartment near 32nd Street and McDowell Road for an assault.
When officers arrived they were confronted by 30-year-old Daniel Ramirez. Police were told Ramirez assaulted his girlfriend and threatened her with a knife in the home.
As they asked Ramirez to come outside, he refused, taking a "fighting stance," according to police. Officers pulled out their Tasers and Ramirez reportedly told them that, "the Taser is from Toys 'R' Us, bring it on."
Police say Ramirez continued to refuse to come out of the home and instead pulled a knife. The officers continued to plead with him to drop the knife and come out, since he was standing between the officers and the woman.
After continuous refusals to comply Ramirez was tased. He dropped the knife and was taken into custody.
Ramirez is being charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
