WICKENBURG, AZ — A teen's friends called Wickenburg police after discovering a man was luring her for sex.
Wickenburg police report that on March 5, a school resource officer was contacted by school staff regarding a possible sex crime.
Police say the teenage victim was not at school that day and left her phone with her classmates. On the phone, her friends reportedly saw plans for her to meet Jaime Garcia, 25, for a sexual encounter.
Police searched the phone and allegedly found sexually explicit messages, photos, and videos sent from Garcia to the victim. Police say messages they found indicated that Garcia was aware that the girl was a minor.
Including in the messages was an agreement to meet that night at Coffinger Park in Wickenburg.
Police located and arrested Garcia at the park.
Garcia, a San Diego resident, has been charged with furnishing obscene material to minors and luring a minor for sex.
