PHOENIX — A teenage boy has died after he was reportedly shot at an apartment complex near 7th Street and Bell Road in north Phoenix Friday.
Phoenix police say they were called to an apartment complex near 7th Street and Bell Road just after 10:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they located a teenage boy with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the hospital with injuries police described as "life-threatening." He was later pronounced dead, according to officials.
Officials say the boy's brother was in possession of a handgun at the time of the shooting. The boy grabbed his brother, causing the gun to accidentally discharge.
The brother was released from the scene after being interviewed.
This incident remains under investigation.
