Court records show that a Tempe man allegedly drank six pints of beer just prior to an accident on April 21 around 3 a.m.
Tempe police arrested 25-year-old Frederick Dick Jr. They say that on that morning, he lost control of his vehicle when he was driving east on Mill Avenue near Forest Avenue.
The car hit the curb, went over the sidewalk, struck a wall and rolled over, landing on its passenger side.
The passenger riding in the vehicle was ejected from the car and suffered severe injuries, including broken ribs, a lacerated spleen and colon.
Police say Dick was extricated from the car and treated for minor injuries.
In an interview with police, he reportedly told them that he drank six pints of beer one hour prior to the collision.
He's been charged with aggravated assault.
