New details have been released after a suspect was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing three men at a Wittmann home.
On August 9, MCSO deputies responded to a house near Poplar and Myers streets around 9:30 p.m.
According to officials, three men were found dead at the scene.
A witness reportedly told MCSO that Hermelindo Guzman Sanchez had been drinking late that afternoon. Guzman himself allegedly told investigators that he had already consumed “at least a 12 pack of Corona 12-ounce beers.”
He later arrived at the victim’s home and continued to drink with the victims in the front yard of the house.
A witness said Sanchez left the home about 8 p.m. and returned 20 minutes later breathing heavily. The three victims approached him to see what was wrong and then the witness heard five to seven gunshots.
After ducking for cover with their baby, the witness used a flashlight to see that the three victims were shot.
Detectives say they located six shell casings at the shooting scene.
Upon his arrest, MCSO says Sanchez changed his account of what happened several times, but never admitted to shooting the victims.
He is being held on a $1 million cash bond on three counts of first-degree murder.
