A verbal argument lead to an intentional fire early in the morning on August 31 in Phoenix.

According to police, two men got into a verbal argument near 15th Avenue and Missouri when one of the men set the other's car on fire.

Police say 34-year-old Christian Tovar, who is the maintenance manager at the apartment complex, allegedly started the fire then set another fire on a random balcony nearby.

Witnesses say they this happened around two a.m. when they saw Tovar put a flammable liquid on the rest of the Chevy Tahoe even after it was already on fire.

He then reportedly put the liquid on the balcony of another apartment. Inside the apartment were a mother and her five children.

Both fires were put out quickly, and no injuries were reported.

Tovar has been charged with arson.
