An arrest is made after a woman tries to run down a Chandler officer, hit a fence and damaged several vehicles, in a high school parking lot.
Chandler police Det. Seth Tyler said officers responded to the school on September21, after a resource officer contacted a woman and two men in a red Chevrolet in the parking lot.
According to Tyler, when questioned, the woman said she was picking up her child but couldn't give the name of a student.
After a verbal altercation, the woman fled from the officer, crashing into at least one other vehicle in the lot. According to court documents, the woman then tried to strike the officer with her car before driving through a fence, hitting several cars and fleeing the area.
Police say the officer drew his gun but did not fire at the woman.
One of the men inside reportedly jumped out and was apprehended by police.
The woman's vehicle was found abandoned in a neighborhood a few blocks south of the school.
The driver, 28-year-old Jessica Ann Vaughn, was found hiding in a backyard.
She was reportedly found with two stolen laptop computers and a stolen ‘Michael Kors’ purse.
She has been charged with aggravated assault.
