PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ — A woman has been arrested, accused of crashing into a Prescott Valley Police Officer’s vehicle while driving under the influence.

Police say 65-year-old Sandra Naugle was driving eastbound on Sprouse Drive near Miner Road when she drove into oncoming traffic, headed toward an officer. The officer swerved to try to avoid the vehicle but was hit on the front passenger’s side of their car. The officer’s patrol car then crashed into a drainage ditch.

The officer was still able to drive his patrol car and stopped the other car involved.

Arizona Highway Patrol responded to the crash and town officers also conducted a DUI investigation.

Police say Naugle was believed to be under the influence at the time of the crash.

She was arrested and faces charges for DUI, two counts of felony endangerment, aggravated assault on a peace officer, and reckless driving.

The officer involved was not injured in the crash.
