GLENDALE — Police arrested a man in his 20s after a deadly shooting that occurred at a Glendale convenience store on Friday,
The incident, described as "heinous" and "targeted" by Glendale police, occurred inside a convenience store near 51st and Glendale avenues on April 21.
According to Glendale police, the man, identified by police as Mohammad Ataei, dressed entirely in black, with a black mask, walked up to 25-year-old Irma Rivera-Martinez and shot her approximately 10 times.
Ataei then reportedly fled the area before police arrived.
As part of the investigation, police used security camera footage in the area and identified a license plate that belonged to Ataei.
With this and other evidence, police brought Ataei into custody.
Ataei was booked into jail on Friday and is facing charges of first-degree murder.
