PHOENIX — Are Valley charter schools making the grade?
Data from the Arizona Department of Education shows letter grades for each charter school in Maricopa County, with ratings from A through F.
The letter grades are based on a variety of measures, including "English Learning," "Proficiency," "Growth," and "Acceleration/Readiness." Charter schools that have high schoolers include other metrics, like "College and Career Ready" and "Graduation Rate."
Of the 267 county charter schools listed, 103 schools scored an "A" and 75 scored a "B."
A total of 27 of charter schools received a "D" or "F" grade, which accounts for about 10 percent of the county's charter schools.
