PHOENIX — Former Vice President Joe Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris are visiting Arizona Thursday, their first visit to our state as part of their 2020 campaign.
Biden's team confirmed the Democrats will meet with American Indian tribal leaders in Phoenix.
Later, they will deliver remarks and embark on a “Soul of the Nation” bus tour to meet with small business owners in Phoenix and Tempe, as well as voters on the second day of early voting in Arizona. The bus tour is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. MST. Details on where the stops will take place haven't been released.
Biden has been focusing largely on virtual events, and according to Bloomberg, this will be the farthest he has traveled from his home base in Delaware so far during the campaign.
His visit comes days after President Donald Trump postponed campaign events in Tucson and Flagstaff due to his COVID-19 diagnosis and hospital stay.
Vice President Mike Pence is also scheduled to visit the Valley on Thursday. He's scheduled to host a Make America Great Again rally in Peoria.
