PHOENIX, AZ — Music icon Cher hit the stage Sunday evening in the Valley to show her support for Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden, who’s currently running a tight race against President Donald Trump in Arizona, with Biden slightly ahead in most polls.
Cher performed a few of her top hits for a group of socially distant Biden supporters. People had their temperatures checked and were checked for symptoms before entering. Masks were required as well.
Cher spoke one-on-one with ABC15 shortly before taking the stage.
“You have to love your country,” Cher says. “You have to have a great love for your country.”

We also spoke to Cher about why she wanted to come to Arizona.
“I also want people to know that we care. You don’t have to be from Arizona to care about Arizona. They can send me to any state they want. And I have played there a million times. I see people in a different way. I can just connect.”
Cher has a busy day Monday. The Biden campaign tells ABC15 she’ll be stopping by a number of voting centers, encouraging people to vote early and exercise their civic duty.
Cher isn’t the only big name stumping for Biden in the Valley this weekend. Actress and “Scandal” star Kerry Washington made an appearance in downtown Phoenix Saturday.
