PEORIA, AZ — While some students have yet to return to in-person learning, hundreds of preschoolers in the Peoria Unified School District are back inside the classroom.

At Foothills Elementary School, only four students will be in a classroom at a time.

Teacher April Owens showed ABC15 some of the changes they're making so the class abides by social distancing guidelines.

"Each preschool bubble has their own toys and everything will be sanitized," Owens said.

They've also blocked off certain cubbies to separate which students will be able to use certain items.

The Peoria Unified School District says parents can decide whether or not their child returns to in-person learning or continue online.

Peoria students in kindergarten through second grade are expected to return on Sept. 21. Students in third through 12th grade are expected to return on Sept. 28.
