Seeing lots of emails, letters? How to spot scam

Posted
and last updated
There are three types of e-mails and letters going around that you might think are scams, but two are legitimate.

The e-mails and letters involve a census, a cyber security attack and a business involving car wrap advertisements.

Turns out, there is an actual American Survey Census going on right now. And there was a "cyber intrusion" that prompted notices from theU.S. Office of Personnel Management, wanting information. Those are legitimate.

But we haven't yet found a legitimate car wrap ad business that contacts you out of the blue. So if you get one, a simple internet search will tell you not to fall for it.
