It's the time of year you may see more American flags as we celebrate Independence Day.
For one Arizona woman, it's a reminder of the unique flag she bought but says she did not receive.
Alison let me know she paid more than $300 for a wood painted flag from the Rustic Flag company.
She says she liked their uniqueness and how they were made.
On its Facebook page, the company says many of its employees are veterans, and Alison was buying the flag for her veteran boyfriend.
The company says there is a 12- to 16-week delivery time. But one full year later, Alison says she still has not received the flag or her money back.
The Better Business Bureau has 1,900 similar complaints from the last year alone.
The Rustic Flag company did not respond to us, and its website is down.
But on its Facebook page, the company says "we are still building flags as quickly as we can. While the process is slow, we are still working through the backlog."
While we work on getting Alison's money back, there are some things all of us can learn about buying online.
First, be wary of websites and obscure companies you don't know.
Always use a credit card so you can dispute any charges if there are problems later.
But, also question companies that state a 4-month delivery wait time.
That 4 months may put you beyond the time limit you have to actually dispute any credit card charge.
