There's a Social Security scam going around the Valley.
It involves a caller saying there's a problem with your account. The calls come from a 917 El Paso, Texas phone number. The caller claims there's a serious issue with your social security payment or something similar.
They want you to call back. When we did call, it went to voicemail. If you get something similar, don't respond.
Instead, check it out by using the legitimate Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 or go to www.ssa.gov.
