The Arizona state senator who's chairman of Paul Babeu's congressional campaign said he's standing by the sheriff despite video showing the candidate touting abusive discipline against special needs students.
ABC15 Investigative Reporter Dave Biscobing caught up with Sen. Steve Smith at the state capitol Thursday.

Smith repeatedly told ABC15 to defer to a statement Babeu made about the report that aired earlier this week. When asked if he was going to distance himself from the Sheriff, he replied "I stand by him."
