Just how safe is your Valley city?
For the past couple of years, the City of Buckeye has touted itself as the safest in the Valley.
But a May 2018 ABC15 Investigation reported about how the city’s rock-bottom 2016 and earlier violent crime rates may be based on dubious exemptions and by under-classifying crimes that experts said should be counted.
The Buckeye Police Chief was suspended, but no explanation was given. Now, a top sergeant just resigned. Why isn't Buckeye P.D. being transparent? ABC15 investigates tonight at 10 p.m.
When the official 2017 F.B.I. crime statistics, which are based on statistics provided by Buckeye Police Department, were released later that year, ABC15 calculated the crime rates for Buckeye and found that their violent crimes and violent crime rates were even lower than reported in 2016.
