A woman who regularly feeds javelina in Tucson was bitten by one Sunday evening, state wildlife officials say.
The Arizona Game & Fish Department in Tucson says it happened Sunday evening near Speedway and North Painted Hills Drive, west of I-10. AZGFD says she's a "habitual" feeder of javelina and was feeding the animals' table scraps when it happened.
AZGFD says they recommended the woman get a rabies shot. She was treated at an urgent care facility and released.
The AZGFD is reminding residents that feeding wildlife is illegal in Pima, Pinal, and Maricopa Counties.
