PHOENIX — A shooting involving Phoenix police officers is under investigation near 12th Street and Osborn Road.
Just after 3 p.m., officers were called to an apartment complex for a woman waving a large knife.

Police officials say that when officers arrived on the scene they spotted the woman on top of a stairwell, still holding the knife.
Officials say she did not comply with commands to drop the weapon. At one point the woman reportedly walked toward officers while holding the knife and the officer-involved shooting occurred.
The woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries but is said to be in stable condition, according to Phoenix police officials. She has only been identified as a 32-year-old woman.
No officers were injured during the incident.
An investigation remains ongoing.
This shooting marks the 3rd media-reported shooting involving Phoenix police officers so far this month.
