Brady Fire: Evacuation status downgraded to 'READY' for Pine Flat area

PRESCOTT, AZ — The evacuation status for residents north of Pine Flat, south of Prescott, has been downgraded to 'READY' Wednesday night.

On Monday, officials said the Brady Fire was threatening the area, prompting the evacuation order.

Officials say the Brady Fire is "estimated to be 400 acres and is burning brush and grass." This fire is in the old Goodwin Fire burn scar.

U.S. Forest Service officials say smoke was seen from surrounding communities including Prescott, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, and Crown King.

It is unclear how much of the fire has been contained.

The American Red Cross moved the evacuation shelter to the Cordes Lakes Community Center, located at 16375 S. Cordes Lakes Drive in Cordes Lakes. If you need shelter, call 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-RED-CROS).

Sheltering for barn animals is available at Arizona Downs at 10445 County Fair Trail in Prescott Valley.

Sheltering for household pets is available at Glassford Hill Middle School at 6901 East Panther Path in Prescott Valley.
