TUCSON, Ariz. - A Tucson Police officer has been arrested for alleged unlawful sexual conduct with a woman he was investigating.
The Tucson Police Department was made aware of possible criminal misconduct involving Officer Richard Daniel on Jan. 17, according to TPD.
The incident happened on Jan. 13 and included an allegation of unlawful sexual conduct with a woman who was the subject of an investigation he was conducting, TPD said.
Officer Daniel was booked into the Pima County Jail on Jan. 20 on one count of unlawful sexual conduct and one count of tampering with physical evidence, according to TPD.
Daniel, who has been with the department for three years, was served a notice of intent to terminate and placed on leave without pay while the investigation continues.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
