Tucson man charged with murdering his infant daughter

A Tucson man has been charged with three counts of child abuse and first-degree murder for the death of his two-month-old daughter, Dezlyianna Lopez-Jose.

Dustin Jose, the 22-year-old father, was booked into Pima County Jail after Operations Division West officers and Tucson Fire responded to a call about an unresponsive infant in the e 500 block of W. Thurber Road on January 22, 2019.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the infant unresponsive and with multiple brain bleeds and multiple healing rib fractures. She was immediately transferred to Banner University Medical Center, and eventually succumbed to her injuries four days later.

Next of kin have been notified.
