PHOENIX — A woman is dead after being hit by a train Friday afternoon in central Phoenix.
Phoenix police say the incident happened just after 1 p.m. near 48th and Madison streets.

When officers arrived on the scene they found a woman with serious injuries.
Police say the woman died at the scene.
Detectives are investigating what led up to the collision.
