78,000 ladders sold at Home Depot and Lowe's recalled due to fall hazard

Around 78,000 aluminum ladders sold at Home Depot and Lowe's stores nationwide have been recalled because of a fall hazard. 

The five models of Werner aluminum ladders being recalled pose a risk because they can break while in use, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. 

The models were sold between April 2018 through May 2018 across the nation. 

The recalled ladders all have a load capacity of 375 pounds. The heights vary between 13 feet and 26 feet. 

The company that imports the ladders, Werner, posted information about the recalled ladders and pictures on its website.

To check if a ladder you have is one affected by the recall you can check the date stamp. It's located on the inside of the outer leg of the ladder, beneath the bottom step. 

You can also look at the model numbers which is on a label on the side of the ladder rail.
