The Cleveland Browns have waived quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Manziel joined the Browns after he was drafted as the 22nd overall pick during the 2014 NFL Draft and appeared in 14 games with eight starts.
Newsnet5.com’s Nick Foley previously reported the Browns will take a $4 million salary cap hit to part with the 2014 first round pick.
This comes more than a month after Manziel was accused of allegedly assault his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, while in Texas.
Dallas police said in a February news conference that at that time, they had not yet spoken to Manziel regarding the incident and that no charges had been filed.
On Feb. 28, reports surfaced that Manziel spent time at a Miami club partying hours after officials announced his domestic violence case was headed to a grand jury. On Wednesday, a TMZ report stated was spotted at a Hollywood nightclub early that morning.
