Dunkin’ -- formerly known as Dunkin’ Donuts -- is warning customers about a recent security incident involving some accounts.
The company reached out to DD Perks members, saying that third parties obtained login information through other companies’ security breaches that may be used to log into DD Perks accounts.

The message to customers said: “On October 31, 2018, we learned from one of our security vendors that a third-party may have attempted to log in to your DD Perks account. We believe that these third-parties obtained usernames and passwords from security breaches of other companies. These individuals then used the usernames and passwords to try to break in to various online accounts across the Internet.”
Dunkin’ says they believe their security vendor was successful in stopping most login attempts, but some accounts may have been compromised.
They’re warning users to be watchful, especially if your DD Perks login information is the same for other logins.
Dunkin’ says they are working with their security vendor to prevent any further incidents and have forced password resets for DD Perks members. They are also working with law enforcement to identify those responsible.
