Nashville police are investigating after a man was killed when a chunk of concrete went through his windshield on Tuesday. 

Metro Nashville PD tweeted that the incident occurred on I-24 near the downtown area around 5 a.m. 

Police said a large piece of concrete went through a vehicle’s windshield. The driver, 54-year-old Joe C. Shelton Jr., died from his injuries, police said. 

It’s believed that the concrete was thrown from a bridge.
