Comedian Dustin Diamond, who played "Screech" on "Saved by the Bell," is in jail after police said he stabbed someone in a bar on Christmas.
Diamond was in Port Washington, Wisconsin when police charged him with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct, according to CNN. The three charges are misdemeanors.
On Friday, Diamond, age 37, was being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond, CNN reported. The arrest report said Diamond got into an argument Dec. 25 with a group of intoxicated patrons in a Port Washington bar called Grand Avenue Saloon.
The report said Diamond believed there would be a brawl, and as he and his girlfriend were leaving, he saw two men holding her hair. She was also bleeding, CNN reported. Diamond attempted to help her and was grabbed by a man, whom he allegedly stabbed with a knife he had on him, according to the arrest report.
Diamond and his girlfriend drove away from the bar and were later stopped by police, where a knife was recovered.
Police said the victim's wound was non-life threatening.
Diamond's girlfriend was charged with disorderly conduct and released, according to CNN.
