Being a driver for a ride-share company allows people to be their own boss and make their own hours.
However, business on the roads is obviously much slower right now amid the pandemic.
If you are looking for work, there may be another option for you through a company called Haultail.
"The Haultail app gives everybody a level-playing field looking for work today," said Haultail Founder and CEO Bruce Williams.
His business looks to deliver your grocery store items, your online purchases, even remove junk and debris from your home in a matter of hours.
"It's a good feeling," Williams said. "We're able to do some deliveries for people that are over the age of 65 that have been impacted that may be a little bit frail to go in the stores."
All of it, of course, at your fingertips through their online website and app.
"They can trace the delivery from the time of pick-up all the way to the delivery point," Williams explained. "And then at that point, they can get a pin code so we know that the proper procedures have been followed and that they have received the goods."
Williams lives here in the Valley, and the company said they have seen nearly 2,000 driver applications in the area over the last couple of weeks.
"It allows someone to go out and utilize their time to make money," Williams said. "And that's what it's all about these days."
To be able to get one of those driver jobs, Williams said, the criteria is pretty basic.
"They'd have to have a driver's license that is current. They have to have a vehicle that is registered and insured," Williams listed. "We do those background checks. They have to be 18-years-old."
It is just a matter of processing those background checks as quickly as possible to get you on the road.
