Authorities say a young child was able to be revived after a near-drowning call Thursday afternoon.

Casa Grande firefighters said they responded around 1:30 p.m. to an apartment complex near Rodeo and Trekell roads.

Crews said the 3-year-old was underwater for 1 to 2 minutes and was unresponsive when pulled from the complex's pool.

Firefighters performed CPR, and he was taken to Banner Regional in Casa Grande. There, medical staff were able to revive him. The child was then transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital for further care.

Many children and parents were present at the time of the near-drowning, officials said.

No other information was immediately available.
